We only collect what we need to quote for work, carry it out and keep proper records:

• Your name, phone number, email address and the address or postcode where the work is needed.
• Details of the job you are enquiring about, including any photos, notes or measurements you choose to send us.
• Messages you send us by enquiry form, email, phone or WhatsApp.
• Basic information about how you found us, such as the page you enquired from and whether you arrived from a search or an advert.

We use your information to:

• Reply to your enquiry and prepare a quotation.
• Arrange a survey, book the installation and keep you updated about it.
• Issue certificates, invoices and warranty records, and register notifiable work with NICEIC and your local authority where required.
• Apply for a government chargepoint grant on your behalf, where you ask us to.
• Keep records we are required by law to keep, and improve the service we offer.

Where you contact us about work, we handle your details to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, and to perform that contract once the work is agreed. We also rely on our legitimate interest in running and improving the business, and on our legal obligations for certification, accounting and health and safety records.

We do not sell your details, and we do not pass them to third parties for their own marketing. We will only send you marketing emails or messages if you have asked us to, and you can ask us to stop at any time by replying or emailing us.

We share information only where it is needed to deliver your job or to meet our obligations:

• Our certification body (NICEIC) and, for notifiable work, your local authority building control.
• The Office for Zero Emission Vehicles and charger manufacturers, where a grant or product registration applies.
• Our accounting and quoting software, so we can issue quotes and invoices.
• Suppliers and subcontractors who need a delivery address or site details to complete the work.

Our website uses Google tools to measure how people find and use the site, including whether an enquiry came from an advert. These tools set cookies in your browser. You can refuse or delete cookies in your browser settings; the enquiry forms will still work.

Our private staff pages do not carry any advertising or measurement tags.

Enquiries that do not go ahead are kept for up to two years so we can pick up the conversation if you come back to us. Records of completed work, certificates and invoices are kept for six years, as required for tax and certification purposes, and longer where a warranty runs beyond that.

Your details are held in secure, access-controlled systems. Only members of the Swiss Electrical team who need them can see them, and staff access requires both a password and a second security step.

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it, or object to how we use it. Email Info@swisselectrical.co.uk and we will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
